‘Because
the world does not belong to us.  Because
we’re nothing, leftovers. Because we are tumbleweeds on roads. Because we are every lost, dashing, shadow. Because
 we’re poems on sidewalks. Because
you are the needle in my arm. We are equals. We are mirrors. We cut the night’.

Supported by a well-deserved national infatuation and growing international recognition, Paris’ based duo AaRON return with ‘Blouson Noir’, the first track to be lifted from their upcoming, self produced, third album ‘We Cut The Night’. AaRON have resolved to reinvent themselves and use this first record as an introduction to the artists they have now chosen to be. John Malkovitch, after hearing Blouson Noir, agreed to be part of the journey, acting in a short prelude to AaRON’s comeback.

The duo’s debut ‘Artificials Animals Riding on Neverland’ came out in 2007, it sold over 400 000 copies and is considered a classic by many. Years to follow saw the accolade of another chart topping album (Birds in the Storm) and the pair being awarded with a European Border Breaker Award followed by a sell out tour.

‘Blouson Noir’ tells a tale of a late, sleepless and very much lovelorn night in New York City; walking alone in the cutting darkness through the concrete, the buildings, the sirens and the overpowering nature of it all with nothing but the sounds of Grace Jones “Strange I’ve Seen That Face Before” playing. “She was a friend to my ears, she was a ghost, she was the super city: gigantic, unseizable, she was that old love story, she was the future, she was the buildings, the sidewalks, the night” it was recounted . “I was running in circle, without any peaceful harbor to reach, like an animal trapped in a fantastic invisible cage. No matter what I would do, or where I would go, I felt life would bring me always back to the essence of my feeling, back to the start. To this black jacket. To this black heart of mine.”

‘Blouson Noir’ is draped in the hypnotic blackness the story of its creation evokes whilst AaRON, before your eyes, become a daring act, unafraid to set themselves apart with irresistible melody, haunting vocals and wholly addictive subject matter.
