Peggy Gou & Róisín Murphy Pay Tribute To Iconic Producer Andrew Weatherall

The two artists paid respects to the dearly missed producer during their respective sets on the weekend, March 7th & 8th.

South Korean DJ and producer Peggy Gou paid tribute to the late and great Andrew Weatherall during her most recent set in Leeds on March 7th, as the headliner for the Inner City Electronic festival. Weatherall was originally scheduled to play alongside Gou during the festival: the artist aptly ended her set with one of Weatherall’s most celebrated produced tracks ‘Loaded’ by Scottish rock band Primal Scream. Their 1991 album ‘Screamadelica’ was produced by Weatherall, and has been widely considered to be one of the best albums of the 90’s. Gou has described Weatherall as one of her heroes, and following his passing shared a loving tribute on Instagram.

Reminiscing further on the iconic producer, on the 8th of March during the BBC 6 Music Festival, held in London – Irish singer-songwriter and producer Róisín Murphy, too, dedicated her set to Andrew Weatherall. Taking a moment to remember the artist during her last track ‘Flash Of Light’, Murphy stated:

“I’d like to dedicate this set to Andrew Weatherall. He really was something very very special and I wish I could tell him, because I never really told him – big cheer for Andy Weatherall!”

Fans can now access a shared Google drive called The Weatherdrive, which contains a whopping 900 hours of work / mixes & more by the legendary producer.
