Nexo Volumetrix Presents: Magical Mistakes

Nexo Volumetrix have just announced a show at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham with Magical Mistakes headlining.

Magical Mistakes, real name Erik Luebs, is a Californian musician who currently resides in Osaka, Japan. Following the path of other artists, like Bon Iver, Magical Mistakes moved to Shiba-san, one of Japan’s most rural villages, to create his sound. Here he was able to draw inspiration from his environment and also from the lineage of contemplative beats crafted by the vibrant community of Osaka artists, such as Shlohmo and Mount Kimbie. It’s clear when listening to Magical Mistakes that his style strives to combine Eastern and Western influences. His tracks are textural, bell-bathed, slow slung electronic compositions blended with organic instrumentation, Japanese motifs, and ambient sounds, that create an immersive underwater effect. Luebs has already seen support from Noisey, XLR8R, The Line Of Best Fit among many others and continues to be praised by tastemakers around the world.

The last Magical Mistakes EP ‘Decompose / Reassemble‘ came out via Canada’s King Deluxe label in July 2015 followed by a release on world renowned Berlin label Project Mooncircle under his original name, Erik Luebs, shortly after. Both releases received critical acclaim, and secured Luebs already sterling reputation, with one track even being debuted by Boiler Room.

For more than 30 years, Nexo sound reinforcement speakers have represented the pinnacle in innovative convergence inspired design and advanced manufacturing processes. In layman’s terms, Nexo are currently producing some of the most groundbreaking speakers out there.

The show will be taking place 12 September at Nec Birmingham. Expect a night of expertly crafted sounds played through a revolutionary system that is guaranteed to do it justice.
