We’re always a little curious when a group of musicians steps totally off the expected path and into the unknown. Take Toronto-based Keys N Krates, for example, who have just released their latest footwork-infused album, Original Classic. On the LP, listeners can expect to find a variety of featured artists including Juicy J, Chip and Marbl on the previously released title track as well as LidoPimienta on one of our personal favourite tracks, ‘Siento Mi Destino’. The album is coupled with a vibrant and psychedelic catalogue of music videos, created by Sammy Rawal.
The visual catalogue features a cast that is comprised of models and up-and-coming legends of the Ballroom scene from iconic houses such as House of Miyake Mugler, House of Ninja and House of Louboutin. Each video is bold and plays with visual techniques with a vibrant energy creating an entrancing experience. Sammy Rawal was inspired by a niche category of 90s warehouse raves, early 2000s RnB videos and films like Blade and Hackers.
The trio, comprised of drummer AdamTune, keyboardist DavidMatisse and turntablist Jr. Flo have just returned to the stage, with the Life is Beautiful Festival kicking things off. Keys N Krates have announced an official tour to celebrate the release of their latest LP, kicking things off in Orlando Florida. You can find their full tour dates in the link to their website below.
