Hidden away in some of the Middle East's most underground boutiques, Irish designer Helen Steele is just one of several high-end stylists causing a stir within the Arabian fashion circuit.

The love of emerging designers has seen Helen Steele set up shop in Dubai, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait with her bright, patterned silk kaftans crafted in traditional shapes and styles.

Far from being mainstream fashion lovers, Middle Eastern women are creating their own style; bold and daring yet feminine and elegant, with a confidence to combine bright colours and bold patterns others may be too afraid to wear.

Strikingly beautiful and almost theatrical, Helen’s pieces are simple in their design with clean lines and abstract patterns. Combined with clashing headscarves the finished piece is like an explosion of colour.

With her inspiration coming from extensive travelling throughout the Middle East, Helen Steele has designed her bold and off-beat designs for a fashion forward culture.
