As headline festival shows and Grammy awards slowly begin to destroy the underground credibility of bass-fuelled electronic music, the bar in which young and aspiring producers need to pass in order to be graced with the mantra “The next big thing” is getting ever higher. As other producers squabble in order to out-bass each other, very few are bucking the commercial trend in order to create heavy bass music that not only keeps the gurning masses happy, but has kept its diversity amongst the waves of wannabe noise producers.
Cutline’s mentality when composing their tracks is to always make sure the party element has been added to their music. Rather than be restrained by the supposed sound of their genre, Cutline care more about creating a collection of tracks that will ultimately destroy a dancefloor than obsess about what it should sound like. The outcome is an unfloundering repertoire of bass sounds and heavy beats that come together to create a sound that is unique to Cutline and devastating when it makes its way into the clubs.
With a number of hit remixes under their belt for the likes of Rudimental, Major Look and Birth Records’ own Punx Soundcheck, Cutline are quickly becoming the producer’s choice when it comes to transforming club smashers into bass riddled anthems, and we are more than happy to have them join us at KOKO on the 9th March.
Cutline will join The Bloody Beetroots, High Rankin and Stenchman at The Playground’s next event at KOKO on the 9th March. Click here for tickets and listen to their remixes for Rudimental and Punx Soundcheck below.
