As part of the ‘Re-Edits’ movement that a number of new producers have began to work in, Blende is most known for his productions inspired by disco and 80s synth pop. Originally of Swedish decent but now based in London, Blende is one of the most intriguing producers working on the electro scene today. His ability to create a party atmosphere wherever he plays is just one of the reasons why we’ve added him to the bill of our Easter Thursday showcase at KOKO next month.
As previously mentioned, Blende’s inspiration in his productions lie steeped in nostalgia. A modern twist on the old school sound of artists such as Blondie, Prince, Hall & Oates and other classic artists are the base to every Blende production. Whether he’s reworking these timeless hits in a more contemporary style or composing from scratch, his work is always designed to create the most enjoyable and uplifting DJ sets and has gained him collaborations with some of the world’s biggest stars. With remixes commissioned for the likes of PNAU, Korn, Roger Sanchez and Skrillex, Blende is hardly considered a small fish but a name that is gaining momentum with every step he takes.
Blende’s latest collaborative EP with Surrender! is available now through Beatport, and his most recent collection of re-edits can be downloaded for free through Blende’s Soundcloud.
Blende will join Vitalic, Yuksek, Etienne De Crecy, Kap Bambino, Goose and Dragonette at The Playground’s Easter Thursday event at KOKO on the 28th March. Click here for tickets or listen to Blende’s latest EP ‘Synapse’ below.
