THE PLAYGROUND: Kavinsky! Really Excited for your set this Saturday @ Koko, I imagine you have been doing a fair amount of travelling of late, can you tell us a little bit about your last few Months?

KAVINSKY: studio finishing my album and now preparing my new video. HAPPY!

THE PLAYGROUND: With your clearly apparent vivid imagination and keen interest in comics and things of a kindred vibe, we are more than curious as to where your sound stems from? What were you listening to growing up?

KAVINSKY:

- old rap like NWA
- John Williams themes in spielberg movies
- video games music outrun,megaman...
- jan hammer for miami vice

THE PLAYGROUND: What is your favourite comic book superhero?

KAVINSKY: too many lets say Spiderman

THE PLAYGROUND: Six years have passed since your EP Teddy Boy was released, how have things changed for you since then, bearing in mind the huge success of Drive?

KAVINSKY: There's something about me, but i'm still the same ;)

THE PLAYGROUND: Being a household name like yourself what are your predictions for the future of electro, where do you see it going?

KAVINSKY: i'm not Ppaco Rabanne, i can not say...

THE PLAYGROUND: I remember Surkin was quoted saying that you are in fact his father, have you seen your son lately? Do you still see much of Mr Oizo and old friends like that?

KAVINSKY: haha, yeah Surkin lives near from my house. Oizo lives in LA but we do still see each other anyway yes

THE PLAYGROUND: What is the strangest display of affection you have received from a fan?

KAVINSKY: I’ve seen a lot of tattoos, the best so far is my logo on a girls nape of her neck

THE PLAYGROUND: What are the Top Three ‘oldies’ you are listening to currently?

- Jean Michel Jarre - oxygene
- Group home - living proof
- Serge gainsbourg - kiss me hardy

THE PLAYGROUND: Also Top Three new tracks you have on repeat at present?

THE PLAYGROUND: Who would be a dream collaboration, dead or alive?

KAVINSKY: Ennio Morricone

THE PLAYGROUND: Last question, what was the first record you ever bought?

KAVINSKY:

BVSMP - I need you in 1988 i think
